JACKSON -- The Jackson Senior Center will hold the fifth annual Miles for Meals Walk-A-Thon May 15 at the senior center.
Rep. David Schwab will be the keynote speaker. Walkers may select from two routes for the walk-a-thon. One route is considerably longer than the other. The routes involve streets adjacent to and around the First Presbyterian Church, the Cape Girardeua County Courthouse, the U.S. Post Office and the old shoe factory building.
The two routes will be designated with color chalk. Refreshments and first aid stations will be located at regular intervals along the routes.
Proceeds from the activity will be used for the Jackson Senior Center's activities, including meals.
Volunteers of all ages may participate. Registration is at 9 a.m. at the center. Door prizes will be awarded and prizes given. The awards ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m.
