The Jackson Municipal Band will hold its weekly concert tonight at 8 p.m. in the band shell located in City Park.
Entrance to the shell parking lot is off Route D.
Special guest for the concert will be Daron Nall. He comes from a strong musical background; his father, Ron Nall, is director of bands at Cape Girardeau Central High School, and his brother plays trumpet professionally in the Branson area.
After graduation from Central, Daron attended St. Louis Christian College and Southeast Missouri State University. At Southeast, he performed with the University Choir while completing a bachelor's degree as an art major.
He will be performing a program consisting of contemporary pop Christian music.
The band's portion of the concert will include:
Selections from the musical "Annie."
H. Stuarts' "Three Songs from Sussex.
A collection of hits from "The Great Muppet Caper."
Several marches, including Karl King's "Coast Guards" and Sousa's "Pride of the Wolverines.
Also included will be "Themes Like Old Times" and "They Went That-a-way."
There is no admission charge for the concert. Persons are encouraged to bring lawn chairs for the evening's entertainment.
