The Cape Girardeau Jaycees will hold a bowl-a-thon to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The proceeds from this annual event, held at West Park Lanes, will be presented to the MDA during the KFVS Labor Day telethon.
The proceeds will fund MDA-sponsored research, provide free medical care and equipment, as well as a free summer camp program. MDA maintains a clinic at St. Francis Medical Center for those affected by the 40 diseases covered in its program. It is directed by neurologist Dr. Robert Gardner, who waives his professional fee to MDA.
Persons wishing to make a donation for the Jaycee Bowl-a-Thon or needing further information, should contact Robin Reeves, Jaycees event chairman, at 339-5709.
