An orientation session for parents who anticipate having a child in kindergarten next school year at Kelly Elementary School near Benton is scheduled for March 7 at 7 p.m. in the elementary gym.
All parents of children who will be 5 before July 1 should attend. Topics include kindergarten screening, student eligibility, enrollment, registration information, curriculum, and suggestions for parents to better prepare their children for school.
The Kelly kindergarten screening will be March 15 and 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Parents should call 545-3544 to schedule their children for enrollment. The screening process will take approximately one hour. Parents must provide a certified birth certificate, a copy of the child's health records and their Social Security numbers.
