Kenneth and Martha Bender's 70th anniversary parade
On their 70th wedding anniversary, Kenneth and Martha Bender sat, surrounded by flowers and balloons, in their driveway for a parade held in their honor Friday, May 15, 2020, in Cape Girardeau. Neighbor Joe McLemore had the idea for the parade and said, on the phone before the event, the Benders were to be presented with proclamations from the state and city before the procession.
