Two Notre Dame High School students were honored recently as the Elks Students of the Month.

Nathan Essner, 17, son of Robert and Karla Essner of Kelso, is the September student of the month. He has been active in National Honor Society, Boys State, Student Council, school musicals and varsity baseball and soccer. He is a past president of Future Business Leaders of America, president of intramural sports, editor-in-chief of the school newspaper and co-editor of the school yearbook. He maintains a B-plus grade point average, is active in his church youth group and has been selected for Who's Who Among American High School students for three years.

Ryan Fenwick, 17, son of Steve and Nancy Fenwick of Cape Girardeau, is the October student of the m. He has been active in projects club, spirit club, varsity soccer and baseball, school musicals and youth ministry at his church. He is president of NHS and Student Council, and has won numerous awards in FBLA competitions. He has been selected three times for Who's Who Among American High School Students and won the United States Student Council Award, Danforth I Dare You award, drama award, Spanish I award, and second team all-conference for soccer.
