Wayne Davenport recognized Harrison for contributions to Southeast Missouri State University, including the donation if $800,000 in stocks to make the purchase of the old St. Vincent Seminary by Southeast Missouri State University possible in 1998.

Harrison, a retired supervisor for the state agricultural extension service, was presented a framed copy of a resolution offered by state Sen. Peter Kinder and passed by the Missouri Senate recognizing Harrison's many accomplishments. Hoffman presented a framed certificate signed by the speaker of the Iowa House of Representatives honoring Harrison.
