ROME -- Tens of thousands of opposition supporters -- some sporting Pinocchio noses to mock conservative Premier Silvio Berlusconi -- marched through central Rome on Saturday to denounce the government and assert the unity of the center-left.

More than 100,000 demonstrators came from around the nation.

Francesco Rutelli, leader of the Olive Tree opposition coalition, accused Berlusconi's government during his address of "lies and ineptitude" and promised a new start for the opposition.
