Two sailors complete U.S. Navy basic training

Navy Seaman Jeremy C. Williams and Fireman Recruit Timothy R. Gilmer recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Williams, son of James D. Williams of Perryville, Mo., is a 2000 graduate of Perryville High School. Gilmer, son of Tracey L. and Thomas R. Gilmer of Scott City, is a 2005 graduate of Scott City High School.

Two complete Air Force training in Texas

Air Force airmen Andrew L. Tiehes and Joseph R. Floyd have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Tiehes is the son of Rick Tiehes and Karen Kiefer, both of Jackson. He is a 2004 graduate of Jackson High School. Floyd, who earned distinction as an honor graduate, is the son of David and Dina Floyd of Jackson. He is a 2005 graduate of Jackson High School.

Lieutenant reports for duty at Florida base

Air Force 2nd Lt. Matthew D. Dunn has arrived for duty at Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, Fla. He is assigned to the 325th Air Control Squadron. Dunn, the son of Debra Ann Palmer of Jackson, is a 1997 graduate of Jackson High School and received a bachelor's degree in 2005 from Southeast Missouri State University.

Sailor participates in joint exercise with Japan

Navy Lt. Matthew J. Brickhaus, son of Lolamae Brickhaus of Sedgewickville, Mo., and his shipmates concluded Annual Exercise 2005 while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk, deployed to Yokosuka, Japan. The event is a joint exercise between the U.S. Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. Brickhaus is a 1989 graduate of Duschesne High School of St. Charles, Mo. and joined the Navy in December 1992. He is a graduate of University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Lincoln, Neb. with a BA degree.

Private completes Marine Corps training

Marine Corps Pvt. Logan J. Earley, son of Sheila L. Rasmussen of Cape Girardeau and Ben J. Earley of Broadus, Mont., recently completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif.
