Anyone interested in learning more about Islam and ISIS, big government and Common Core educational standards is invited to attend Saturday's "Confronting the Issues of the Day" mini conference in Cape Girardeau.

Presented by Concerned Women for America of Missouri, the event will be from noon to 4 p.m. at the public library, 711 N. Clark St. It will be broken into three parts -- "Islam: What Every American Needs to Know" by author and speaker Bill Federer; "Agenda 21's Effect on Missouri" by Amy Fox, which deals with sustainable development; and "Common Core State Standards Initiative: Connecting the Dots."

The mini conference is open to women, men and teens, according to an event brochure. For more information, call the library at (573) 334-5279.
