Missouri Treasurer Clint Zweifel will visit Clippard Elementary School in Cape Girardeau at 1 p.m. today.
Zweifel will speak to third-graders on the importance of higher education, according to a news release from Zweifel's office.
The treasurer is visiting schools throughout the state this month to talk about the importance of preparing for higher education and saving with a MOST 529 account, a state-sponsored education savings account, the release stated.
In celebration of 529 College Savings Day this month, a contest is being held in which the grand prize will be a contribution worth $5,290 to a MOST 529 account, the release said, and 10 first-prize winners will each receive a $529 contribution.
