ST. CHARLES, Mo. (AP) -- Another Missouri community college is receiving a grant to educate students in growth industries.

Gov. Jay Nixon was scheduled to visit St. Charles Community College on Friday to announce the Training for Tomorrow grant.

The money will help the college develop training programs in such fields as surveying, technology and sustainability, and business operations.

Nixon announced Training for Tomorrow grants Thursday at East Central College in Union and Mineral Area College in Park Hills.

The grant program was unveiled two months ago. Nixon says community colleges have worked with businesses in their areas to identify workforce needs and seek funding from the state Division of Workforce Development.
