SIKESTON, Mo. -- Missouri Department of Transportation crews are at work striping area state routes, including highways 72 and 34 in Cape Girardeau, Bollinger, Madison and Wayne counties. Weather permitting, striping work will be underway from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, excluding weekends, according to a MoDOT news release. Motorists are advised to stay back 500 feet from machinery and follow all safety signage. MoDOT suggests that motorists don't pass the striping machines, to avoid getting paint on their vehicles. For additional information, contact the MoDOT's Customer Service Center at 888-275-6636.
