A portion of Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to a single lane of traffic next week while Missouri Department of Transportation crews make pavement repairs. The work will begin at 7 a.m. Monday on a section of I-55 between Route Y and U.S. 61. Weather permitting, repairs will continue each day through Wednesday, concluding at 3:30 p.m. daily. Work will be done in both the northbound and southbound lanes. Route Z in southwestern Scott County will continue to be closed next week while MoDOT crews replace pipes under the roadway. Weather permitting, work will be done from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day Monday through Friday on a section of road between Route DD and Scott County Road 470. Motorists are asked to use caution in these areas.
