Cape Girardeau police are looking for a suspect in a Tuesday afternoon bank robbery.
A white man wearing a long-sleeved green shirt, jeans, dark shoes and a light-colored ball cap robbed First State Community Bank, 1602 N. Kingshighway, on Tuesday afternoon, said Darin Hickey, public information officer for the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
No one was hurt in the robbery, he said.
The suspect entered the bank, handed a teller a note and demanded money before running out the door and fleeing north on foot, Hickey said.
The suspect did not display a weapon during the robbery, Hickey said.
Police received a call about the robbery at 2:31 p.m., he said.
At least seven police vehicles responded to the call.
FBI agents and Cape Girardeau police crime scene investigators still were processing the scene at 4 p.m., and Hickey said they hoped to release a photo or video of the suspect soon.
Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is urged to call the Cape Girardeau Police Department at 335-6621 or the Crime Stoppers hotline at 339-6312.
The bank robbery is the fourth of the year in Cape Girardeau. The Bank of Missouri, 1622 N. Kingshighway, was robbed twice -- once Jan. 10 and once March 25 -- and Cape Girardeau Regional Credit Union, 2427 Cape Centre Drive, was robbed Feb. 6.
No gun was displayed in any of the earlier robberies, although the suspect in the credit union robbery claimed he had one.
