A number of area students are attending The American Legion Boys State of Missouri on the campus of Central Missouri State University at Warrensburg this week.
Among local boys attending are:
Andrew R. Margrabe, son of Fred and Cecilia Margrabe of Jackson, attends Jackson High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society, band, jazz band, drama, speech team, Spanish Club, FBLA, and an Eagle Scout at Explorer Post 311.
Keenan Kinder, son of Donald and Joyce Kinder of Burfordville, attends Jackson High School He is a member of the speech team, the debate team, Student Council, National Honor Society, French Club, Pep Club, Quill and Scroll and the Drama Club.
Kyle F. Chasteen, son of Dr. and Mrs. Fletcher O. Chasteen of Cape Girardeau, attends Central High School. He is a member of Cross Country, track, National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Young Life, Letterman's Club and Band.
James Koch, son of John and Judy Koch of Cape Girardeau, attends Central High School. He is a member of the debate club, St. Andrew Lutheran Church and the church youth group.
Kory P. Thoma, son of Carlton and Jean Thoma of Jackson, attends Jackson High School. He is a member of the J-Club, Pep Club, SADD, FBLA, and varsity basketball team.
Toby A. Crowden, son of James and Bonnie Stevens of Cape Girardeau, is a student at Jackson HIgh School. He is a member of J-Club, Pep Club, SADD, and varsity basketball and baseball teams.
Andy Dial, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Taylor Dial of Cape Girardeau, attends Central High School. He is a member of National Honor Society, Beta Club, Spanish Club, Young Life, varsity baseball and football, Boy Scouts and Who's Who in American High Schools.
Craig Elfrink, son of Del and Theresa Elfrink of Cape Girardeau, attends Notre Dame High School. He is a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and a volunteer at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He is a member of the Pep Club and attended the Missouri Freedom Forum.
Clayton Hahs, son of David and Candy Hahs of Cape Girardeau, attends Central High School. He is a member of Beta Club, National Honor Society, Chamber Choir, Letterman's Club, Young Life, St. Andrew Lutheran Church and the varsity swim team.
Chris Redfearn, son of Michael and Karen Redfearn of Cape Girardeau, is a student at Central High School. He is a member of National Honor Society, Red Dagger, Band, Choir, Speech and debate, National Forensics League, Spanish Club, and Patriotic Club.
Gabe Hinkebein, son of Tom and Laura Hinkebein of Cape Girardeau, attends Central High School. He is a member of the Patriotic Club, Speech and Debate Club, Forensics League, Cross Country team, the sports editor of the school newspaper, and an Eagle Scout.
Tom Jansen, son of Martin and Mary J. Jansen of Kelso, attends Notre Dame High School. He is a member of St. Augustine Church in Kelso, is CYC President, a member of the concert choir, and plays basketball and baseball.
Chris Barks, son of Scott and Karen Barks of Marble Hill, attends Meadow Heights High School. He is a member of Beta Club, Pep Club, Varsity Basketball, volleyball manager and member of The Panther and Chatterbox staff.
Scott Johnson, son of Norris and Barb Johnson of Cape Girardeau, attends Central High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Letterman's Club, varsity baseball and cross country teams, and Lynwood Baptist Church.
Charlie Wehner, son of David and Barbara Wehner of Cape Girardeau, attends Notre Dame High School. He is a member of St. Mary's Church, the soccer team, attended career day, Chemistry Bowl and Freedom Forum.
Seth LaClair, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer LaClair of Jackson, attends Jackson High School. He is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Jackson High School Marching Band, and Jackson High School Game Players Club.
Matthew Jackson, son of David and Kathleen Jackson of Cape Girardeau, attends Central High School. He is first vice president of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Spanish Club president, Chamber Choir, varsity cross country, St. Andrew Lutheran Church choir, yearbook staff, volunteer at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
Scott Seabaugh, son of Charles and Judy Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau, attends Central High School. He is a member of Bethel Assembly of God Youth Group and Young American Bowling Alliance.
