The Jackson Heritage Association will host an open house at the Oliver House Museum, 224 East Adams St., Jackson beginning with 1:30 p.m. tours Saturday, May 6.

The newly landscaped gardens around the home's perimeter are dedicated to Marie Oliver, designer of the Missouri state flag, and were recently planted by Cape Girardeau County Master Gardeners. The association invites visitors to test their knowledge of heirloom flowers, enjoying favorites of yesteryear including Love Lies Bleeding, Turtle Head and Evening Primrose, to name a few.
