This week the Southeast Missourian asked, "Who do you think will make it to the World Series?"

Steve Patberg, Mount Carmel, Ill.

"I think it will be the Yankees and the Braves. I think both have better athletes and pitchers. I think it's going to be the Yankees (to win the World Series). The Yankees are good, and they've got a couple of guys who are really hot right now pitchingwise and hittingwise."

Jim Reed, Elizabethtown, Ky.

"It's going to be between the Yankees and the Braves. Whoever wins (between) the Yankees and Cleveland game in the first game. They will be going in against the Braves. The Braves should wrap it up. They've got the depth on the pitching."

Ben Lowrance, Cape Girardeau

"I'm going to go with the Yankees (and) the Braves. The Yankees (will win it) because they're unbelievable.

Ed Nipper, Belgrade

"The Yankees will be there. Probably the Braves. (Because of) past years and the Yankees are doing real well now and the Braves are always the team to beat."

Matt Lattimore, Sullivan

"I'd have to go with Houston and the Yankees. I'll have to go with the Yanks (to win). Because of their record this year with 114 wins."
