BENTON, Mo. -- A husband and wife from Oran, Mo., were being held in the Scott County jail Wednesday evening in connection with a rash of residential burglaries that started in October.

Keith D. Chapman, 44, is being charged with possession of a controlled substance, five counts of second-degree burglary, five counts of stealing, possession of burglary tools, unlawful use of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $150,000.

Lori D. Chapman, 40, is being charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia in a county jail and five counts of receiving stolen property. Her bond is set at $100,000.

The two were arrested Tuesday evening in Morley, Mo., after officers stopped a suspicious vehicle in Morley. During a search, officers found illegal narcotics and paraphernalia on the Chapmans, who were in the vehicle. An additional search of the vehicle and the couple's home found items believed taken from burglaries in Morley, Oran and Chaffee.
