JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Southern Missouri's Ozark National Scenic Riverways will be featured on a quarter.

The national park surrounding the Jacks Fork and Current rivers will appear on quarters in 2017. It's part of the U.S. Mint's America the Beautiful quarters program that will feature 56 sites in all 50 states over the next 12 years.

National parks selected through the program will be minted in the order the sites were created. Ozarks National Scenic Riverways was created in 1964. The park includes part of Carter, Dent, Shannon and Texas counties.

The quarter's design will be created by the U.S. Mint and approved by the governor and federal officials.
