PERRYVILLE -- A 39-year-old Perryville man has been arrested and charged with murder in an early February shooting, police said.
Russell Allen Cline, of 314 S. Spring St., was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action, said Eugene Besand, Perryville police chief.
Cline is being held in the Perryville County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
William H. Dial, 33, had been shot and killed Feb. 8 at his residence, 1138 W. St. Joseph St. Police reported finding Dial's body after a person called, saying someone was being shot.
In a press release, Besand said investigators had conducted several interviews and collected "numerous pieces of evidence which led us to the arrest of Cline."
Police are still searching for a murder weapon, Besand said, explaining that evidence has been received that has given them a site to search for the weapon.
Several law enforcement agencies have been involved in the investigation.
The last murder to occur in Perryville took place in 1994.
