Apple butter time. Members of the Hanover Lutheran Ladies Aid, having disposed of the peach crop, are now working on the first of the apple crop. Using large iron kettles, heated by wood fires, they are turning out in considerable quantity a tasty product they sell, the fund going to build a new kitchen at the church activities building. From the left are Mrs. Lula Meyer, Mrs. Oscar Huettig, Mrs. Martin Meyer, Mrs. Emil Meyer, Mrs. William Opitz, Mrs. Adam Frank, Mrs. Ervin Frank, Mrs. E.C. Mullen, Mrs. E.F. A new city administration posed in the mayor’s office Monday just before taking office. Seated is Mayor Narvol A. Randol. Behind him from the left are: Commissioners J.W. McBride, U.G. Pettigrew, Max G. Stovall and John  Wieser. Commissioners McBride and Pettigrew have embryonic beards in an early start for the city’s sesquicentennial observance in the summer.
