The collegiate football season in Cape Girardeau will be given a cheering and cheerful send-off tonight at Houck Stadium by this comely crew of State College cheerleaders. The Indians will be spurred on by their leadership in an 8 o’clock game with St. Benedict’s College of Atchison, Kansas. The newest city-built and owned parking lot, designed to provide space for shoppers in the Main street business area, is rapidly nearing completion. Final pours are being made on the strips of concrete. The lot is to be metered to accommodate 145 automobiles in four rows of angle parking. Meters will provide long-time parking for automobiles. It’s an ugly job anytime unstopping a clogged sanitary sewer line, but Tuesday’s 15-degree cold made the task all the more difficult for the city crews. In the foreground are L.A.
