Children pick out pumpkins at the Grace United Methodist Church pumpkin patch on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016 in Cape Girardeau. The pumpkin patch is a fundraiser of the church with the money raised going to some of the 23 missions throughout the area. The pumpkins are grown on a farm at the Navajo Indian Reservation in Farmington, New Mexico.

The pumpkin patch is a fundraiser of the church with the money raised going to some of the 23 missions throughout the area. The Colliers were picking out pumpkins with the PEP Program through Southeast Missouri State University's Educare, a grant-funded family and child care provider program. The children, along with their families, were exploring a life science study of the characteristics of living things.
