DEXTER - For the 15th consecutive year, the Missouri State Racking Horse Show will be held here.

The Dexter Chamber of Commerce and its horse show committee met this week to work out details concerning Saturday's show that begins at 3 p.m. at the Stoddard County Fairgrounds.

This year's show is shaping up to be one of the best, said Ann Bowling, general chairman of the show committee. Bowling said entries for the show have been received from racking horse breeders in Kentucky, Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and several other states.

The horses, trained to trot at a certain gait, may be entered in 24 classes, including two champion~ship classes.

Following the first 10 classes, a dinner break will be held with competition set to resume at 7 p.m.

An entrance fee of $2 for adults and $1 for children ages 6 to 12 covers both sessions.

The show is affiliated with the National Horse Show Commission, Racking Horse Breeders Association and the National Racking Horse Sweepstakes.
