A 31-year-old woman reported being forcibly taken early Friday from the streets of downtown Cape Girardeau to a secluded location in the northeast part of the city where she was raped, police spokesman Sgt. A 31-year-old woman reported being forcibly taken early Friday from the streets of downtown Cape Girardeau to a secluded location in the northeast part of the city where she was raped, police spokesman Sgt. Barry Hovis said.

The woman told officers that two men forced her into a car, Hovis said. After assaulting her, she told investigators that the two returned her to the downtown area.

Police anticipate releasing more details, including descriptions of the suspected rapists and their vehicle, later today, Hovis said.
