Two parked cars hit by train on Water Street

Two unoccupied, parked cars were hit by a Burlington-Northern train at 12:26 a.m. Saturday on North Water Street near Broadway, according to the Cape Girardeau Police Department. Both vehicles were sideswiped on the passenger side and were extensively damaged.

No one was injured or charged in the incident.

Juvenile assaulted outside of home Saturday

A juvenile male was assaulted by another juvenile male early Saturday, according to the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

The first juvenile was outside his home in the 1800 block of Bloomfield Road at 12:20 a.m. Saturday when he was approached by the second juvenile male. The second juvenile punched the first in the left eye and then went out into the street, where he was seen carrying a black semiautomatic handgun. He fled to the southeast.

SEMO coach to be guest on KRCU show today

Tim Billings, head football coach at Southeast Missouri State University, will be the featured guest on KRCU's "Going Public" radio show on Sunday.

Billings will discuss the current season and how the team has improved.

The show will air at 3 p.m. on 90.9 FM, the region's Public Radio affiliate station.
