Marriage seminar to begin Sunday at Church of Christ

Cape Church of Christ will hold a marriage seminar beginning Sunday at the church. Bill Oakley, who has specialized in marriage and family counseling for the last 20 years, will be speaking at the seminar, which runs through Wednesday.

Seminary professor to present program at University Center

Dr. Kurt Marquart, a professor at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind., will be speaking on the subject of "The Case for Intelligent Design" at 7 p.m. Monday in the party room at the University Center on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session. Lutheran Student Fellowship from Lutheran Chapel of Hope is sponsoring the event. For more information, contact the Rev. David V. Bootheel Area Women's conference postponed until May

Dinner, raffle fund raiser planned at St. Mary's Parish Hall

A barbecue dinner and raffle fund raiser in memory of Msgr. Thomas Miller will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. on April 24 at St. Mary's Parish Hall in Anna, Ill. All proceeds will go to furnish a room at Bethany Village.

The Southeast Missouri District Circle spring meeting will be held April 24 at Grace United Methodist Church. Registration will be at 9:30 a.m. in the welcoming center at the main entrance of the church. Reservations must be turned into the church office by Monday. A lunch will be served by Wilma Copeland's committee. The program will be given by Ellen Dillion. Mary Ann Pensel, a conference officer from Grace UMC, will present books from the reading program which may be purchased by UMW units.

Sedgewickville Baptist spring revival set for today, Sunday

Sedgewickville Baptist Church will hold its spring revival today and Sunday. The Rev. Steven Francis will preach at 7 p.m. today. He is pastor of Iona Baptist Church and president of the Missouri Bi-Vocational Minister's Association. Dr. Jim Cogdill will preach at the Sunday morning and evening services. Cogdill is missions director of Cape Baptist Association.

Revival planned at Bethlehem General Baptist in Crump

Bethlehem General Baptist Church of Crump will hold revival services beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday. Vyron Yount of Cape Girardeau will be the evangelist.

Centenary United Methodist begins three-part sermon series

The Rev. Clayton L. Smith, pastor of Centenary United Methodist Church, will be preaching a three-part sermon series beginning Sunday with "When Christianity and Secularism Conflict." Also, at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, David Limbaugh will review his book, "Persecution." On April 25 the sermon will be "When Political and Spiritual Correctness Confuse," and on May 2, it will be "When Tolerance and Conviction Collide." For more information, call 334-2869.

Bake sale to be held at Grace United Methodist Church

A bake sale will be held in the Narthex of Grace United Methodist Church on April 25. Proceeds will go to help women in Liberia, Africa.
