Fall bazaar at Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is sponsored by the United Methodist Women, and includes collectibles, white elephant items, crafts, pies and cakes. A Hobbs Chapel cookbook will be for sale. Lunch will be served.

Blessing of the pets at 9 a.m. at Capaha Park. The event is part of Bark in the Park, sponsored by the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri. The Downtown Council of Churches is sponsoring the pet blessing, with the Revs. Dr. Jay White and Bob Towner participating.

Members of the Humane Society and Downtown Council of Churches are coordinating the event.

Pagan Pride Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cherokee Park's playground shelter. A full moon ceremony will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Workshops are planned throughout the day with guest author M.R. Sellars and civil rights activists Terry and Amanda Riley.

Farewell dinner at 6 p.m. today for the Rev. Jeffrey Sippy of Hanover Lutheran Church, and his family at Drury Lodge. Reservations are necessary.

Youth rally at 7:30 p.m. at Father's Arms Fellowship in Scott City. New Life Drama Company is performing.

Perkins Baptist Church annual fish fry beginning at 4 p.m. There is no charge for the meal. Bring lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of gospel music.

Sunday

New Life Drama Company peforms at 10:30 a.m. worship at Father's Arms Fellowship in Scott City.

Teachings of sanctification will be presented by the Rev. Mark Ramsey of First Church of God during morning worship service.

Friday

Christ Lutheran Church members will make sorghum molasses from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the John Lorberg farm west of Gordonville. Molasses will be available for purchase the following day. To place an order, call 243-2858. Money raised from the sale of molasses is used for mission projects supported by the church.

Gospel sing at 7 p.m. at A.C. Brase Arena Building with the Crabb Family, Michael Combs, Mike Bowling and YoungSong. Tickets are available by calling (423) 343-0172 or (423) 677-5093.

Gospel sing at Perkins Baptist Church featuring Bill and Laurie Sky. Also, there will be an appearance by artist Vicki Young. There will be a time of food and fellowship after the concert.
