Federal prosecutors said a Boone County deputy responded to the ad, posing as the mother of a 14-year-old daughter. Cannon was arrested after going to a restaurant in Columbia to meet with the woman and child.

The charge of attempting to induce a minor to engage in illicit sexual activity carries a sentence of 10 years to life in prison. A sentencing date hasn't been set.
