A Rotary International Study Exchange Team from Maharasthra, India, toured the Southeast Missourian Friday as part of a tour of the Southeast Missouri region.
The Study Exchange Team, sponsored by the Cape Girardeau-Jackson Rotary clubs, includes Team Leader "Ram" Kavra, a practicing surgeon; Dilip Puri, a Holiday Inn manager; Dr. Vaijayanti Nagarkar, a homeopathic consultant; Dr. Sadhana Deshmukh, an obstetrician/gynecologist; and Pramod Deshmuiji, a mechanical engineer.
The team arrived in Missouri's Rotary District 6090 on March 22 and will be in the area through April 28.
The Group Study Exchange, an educational program of the Rotary Foundation, is designed to provide professional men and women opportunities to study other countries and cultures, to further international understanding and to involve Rotarians in specific international service projects.
The team's itinerary includes several stops, including Bonne Terre, Farmington, Caruthersville and Poplar Bluff.
