This graphically illustrated report is titled "Your Skin: The Inside Story." It takes a close look at the epidermis, which provides the first line of defense against the outside worlds, and delves into the mysteries of the dermis -- the inner skin.

Included in the report is information about how the body fights off infections, the damaging effects of the sun, and some practical tips for teens about dealing with acne.

Science Screen Report, in its twenty-third year, is an educational video series produced in cooperation with the National Science Teachers Association. The award-winning series presents recent developments in science and technology in a format designed for junior and senior high students.

A grant from Union Electric Company funds the series at Notre Dame Senior High School, Central Senior High School and Jackson Senior High School.
