BENTON, Mo. -- A Benton man was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of child pornography.
According to a news release from the Scott County Sheriff's Department, Derek K. Mims, 40, was charged after an investigation found Mims had images on his cellphone depicting children believed to be under 18 in sexual poses and having sexual contact.

Mims posted a $2,500 bond Wednesday and will appear in court on Sept. 7.
