Kenneth Jeffrey Keirsey, son of John K. Keirsey of Dexter, graduated in May from the School of Optometry at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

In 1987, he received a bachelor's degree in biology from Southeast Missouri State University.

As a student, Keirsey completed externships at the St. Louis Comprehensive Neighborhood Health Center, the O'Donnell Eye Institute, the Veterans Administration Medical Center and the Optometric Center of St. Louis.

While at the School of Optometry in St. Louis, Keirsey was a member of the American Optometric Association.
