Southeast Missouri State University's College of Education will present a Multicultural/International Lecture Series this academic year.

The series is open to the public.

It will begin Wednesday with a lecture titled, "Issues and Trends in 21st Century Education in India."

The lecture is scheduled for noon in Scully Room 209. It will be presented by professor Neeta Jain of the Rajeev Gandhi Prathmic Shiksha Mission.

The second lecture is titled "Educating Minorities: Retrospects and Prospects." It is scheduled for noon Nov. 4 in Academic Auditorium. Dr. William Watkins, associate professor of the University of Illinois-Chicago, will deliver the lecture.

The third lecture is "Peace, Violence and Schools." It will be presented at noon March 24 in Academic Auditorium. Dr. Rose Duhon-Sells, past president of the Association for Teacher Educators in Washington, D.C., and professor of education at McNeese State University, will present the lecture.

The series will end at noon April 14 in Academic Auditorium with a lecture on "The Politics of First and Second Languages." The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Kim Brown, associate vice provost for international affairs and associate professor of applied linguistics and international studies at Portland State University.
