Donnie Williams, 49, of Sikeston, Mo., was sentenced to 92 months in prison Monday in federal court for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

Prosecutors said Williams previously admitted that beginning in February through March 5, he and John A. Chadd agreed to obtain the required ingredients to make methamphetamine. In addition, the men made the drug and were experimenting with two different methods.

On March 5, the men went to a Cape Girardeau store to buy pseudoephedrine pills. They had previously gathered several boxes of the pills from other stores. Chadd was driving Williams' pickup truck and Williams was in the passenger seat when they were stopped by law enforcement officers on Interstate 55 in Scott County.

A search of the truck revealed numerous items associated with the making of the illicit drug, including recipes for it. Later that day, Williams consented to a search of his hotel room in Sikeston. Numerous ingredients used to make meth were seized from the room.

Chadd is scheduled for sentencing Oct. 27 in Cape Girardeau.

Upon release from prison, Williams will be placed on supervised release for five years.
