MOREHOUSE -- A Sikeston woman was killed Wednesday afternoon when her vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer on U.S. 60.

Helen Eloise Rogers, 81, died in the accident, which occurred at 12:30 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred as Rogers, who was eastbound on U.S. 60 at Morehouse, made a left turn across the highway from the driving lane. Her vehicle, a 1986 Oldsmobile, was struck in the side by a Volvo tractor-trailer unit, also eastbound, driven by Lloyd Brown, 48, of Dudley.

Brown was not injured.
