CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Applications are now available for the 21st Annual Spring Arts and Crafts Fair to be held March 16-17 at the A.C. Brase Arena Building.

"Our exhibitors come from as far away as Florida and Texas," said Beverly Strohmeyer, executive director of the Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts, the show's sponsor.

"They are usually hobbyists who have turned professional by selling what they love to make," she said.

"Our floor-plan has been revised so that new crafters and return exhibitors can rent the space that fits their needs."

All exhibitors must be Arts Council members.

The Arts Council sponsors the crafts fair to raise funds. With matching funds from the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency, the local council produces arts-related programs in schools, nursing homes and day-care centers, and for public performances and exhibits.
