Enrollment continues to rise at Southeast Missouri State University.
The combined undergraduate and graduate student headcount for the spring semester is up 2.9 percent, according to a preliminary report compiled after the first full day of classes of the spring semester, which began Tuesday.
Total undergraduate and graduate enrollment is 10,101 students, up from 9,820 at the same time last year.
Total enrollment is up 281 students over the first day of spring semester 2010 figures and up 712 from first day of spring semester 2009, according to Debbie Below, Southeast's assistant vice president for enrollment management and director of admissions.
The international student headcount is 565, up from 398 in spring 2010. Transfer student enrollment is 317, compared to last year's 320.
The official census report will be issued in four weeks.
The university posted record enrollment for fall 2010, with a total of 11,112 undergraduate and graduate students. Enrollment was up 2.3 percent from fall semester 2009.
