St. Louis judges consider city gun court
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- City judges in St. Louis are considering a plan to create a special court for gun-related crime. Circuit Judge Jack Garvey wants to add court divisions dedicated to armed robberies and cases involving the unlawful use of weapons. ST. LOUIS (AP) -- City judges in St. Louis are considering a plan to create a special court for gun-related crime.
Circuit Judge Jack Garvey wants to add court divisions dedicated to armed robberies and cases involving the unlawful use of weapons. The University of Missouri-St. Louis' criminology department would track the results to determine the specialty court's impact on city gun violence.

The new court would require four full-time prosecutors, including two new hires. Circuit judges are expected to vote on the measure on Sept. 16.
