A Union Pacific steam engine will make a stop in Cape Girardeau this summer on its Little Rock Express route from Kansas City, Mo., to North Little Rock, Ark.

The steam locomotive, Union Pacific's No. 844, will make an overnight stop in Cape Girardeau as part of its tour, according to a Union Pacific news release.

A detailed schedule will be available April 27, the company said in the news release.

The Little Rock Express was the winning route in the company's "Great Excursion Adventure -- You Route the Steam" contest. Contest participants voted on their choice of several routes, with the Kansas City-to-North Little Rock route receiving the most votes.

The tour begins May 29 and wraps up June 9.
