The third annual Silverscreen Film Festival begins Friday with a 6:30 p.m. screening at Memorial Union on the University of Missouri campus. The show features submissions from college filmmakers across the state.

On Saturday, Chicago-based movie critic Richard Roeper joins a panel of local film industry members as a judge in the student competition. Roeper will also give a free public lecture at the Missouri Theater Center for the Arts at 6 p.m.
