JACKSON -- Super Video Warehouse opened recently at the Main Street Centre in Jackson.

"We'll have videos for rent and sale," said owner Jim Maevers. "We'll also have CDs and cassettes."

The store, situated in a new, strip shopping center, is open from noon to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, noon to midnight Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 8 p.m. Sundays.

The store has a drive-up drop box for returning rented videos.

"The new business is a growth from Schaper's IGA Video Center," said Maevers, also the manager of Schaper's and developer of Main Street Centre. "We needed more space to fit our customers' needs."

Maevers said videos still are available at Schaper's and that customers' membership numbers remain the same both at Schaper's and Video Warehouse.

Mark Gones is manager of Video Warehouse, which occupies 2,400 square feet.

Plans for the new Main Street Centre were announced in May. The plans involved renovation of existing buildings and construction of a 20,000-square-foot building.

A Subway Shop opened in one of the renovated buildings in early June and Mufflers & More moved into the other remodeled building, said Maevers.

"The new structure is almost complete," said Maevers. "It should be finished soon. We will have some space available for lease. Hopefully we'll have a fitness center in a portion of the building."
