Supporters of the Bush/Cheney ticket in Cape Girardeau will gather for a party tonight at the Team Emerson headquarters, 400 N. Broadway, in Suite 501. The 7 p.m. party will be one of 5,100 across the country where interested people can drop in, mingle, enjoy refreshments, and at 7:30 p.m. listen in on a live conference call with Vice President Dick Cheney.

Five people from five states, Missouri included, have been chosen to ask Cheney a question.

Aaron Herr of Lemay, Mo., was chosen to represent Missouri because of his commitment to the Bush/Cheney campaign, said Danny Diaz, a member of the national campaign committee.

"He has volunteered time and energy and he believes strongly in this president," said Diaz.

Across the country supporters are having these parties in their living rooms, restaurants and anywhere people gather.

Anyone is welcome to drop in at Team Emerson headquarters, said a spokesman. Between 25 and 30 are expected, she said, but she's hoping for 50 or more.
