The number of cars broken into has doubled, compared to January 1999, police have said.

Police had arrested two Sikeston men on Feb. 1 regarding thefts from cars in Doctor's Park. They are being considered as possible suspects in other thefts, and their status is pending a review by the Cape Girardeau County prosecutor's office.

Williams' crime is a class C felony, punishable by up to seven years in prison. Williams is being held at the Cape Girardeau County Jail under $12,500 bond.
