SIKESTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston man is in custody for bank robbery after his arrest Friday evening.
Quinton Turk, 24, is charged with first-degree robbery for robbery of Alliance Bank in Sikeston.
Turk's arrest comes after a joint investigation by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety and the FBI to identify the suspect who robbed the bank about noon Oct. 20. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money, then fled on foot.
According to Capt. Jim McMillen, public information officer for Sikeston police, information and evidence obtained during the investigation led police to identify the suspect as Turk. Investigators obtained a Scott County warrant on Turk on Thursday.
"On Halloween night police received information that Turk was holding up in a hotel in Shelby County, Tennessee. It wasn't long before investigators were able to identify the exact hotel where Turk was staying," McMillen said in a news release.
Sikeston police informed the Shelby County Fugitive Task Force of Turk's location and of the arrest warrant. The Task Force deployed several units to the hotel and took Turk into custody about 8:40 p.m. without incident, McMillen reported.
Currently Turk is being held at Shelby County Jail pending his extradition to Missouri. Bond is set at $25,000 cash only.
