Police are looking for suspects in a Tuesday night shooting in Cape Girardeau.
The shooting left two victims with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Police believe the two were wounded in different locations and ended up at the address police responded to on Bloomfield Street, according to Sgt. Darren Estes of the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
Cpl. Darin Hickey, public information officer for the department, said the two victims told police there were multiple people walking in the area, and they couldn't tell which direction the shots came from. One victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg; the other was wounded in the arm.
One person "refused to identify himself" to police at the scene, Hickey said, and was taken into custody after a "tussle" with officers. He was in custody pending formal charges of resisting arrest, refusal to identify as a witness and obstructing government operations; he has not been charged in the shooting.
The incident remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed or has information on the shooting is asked to call the Cape Girardeau Police Department at 335-6621. Tips also can be submitted anonymously online at cityofcapegirardeau.org/crimetips at 339-6313.
