ST. LOUIS -- The U.S. Commerce Assistant Secretary is in St. Louis to launch a tour of manufacturers that use environmentally sound practices.
William Sutton is spotlighting the national effort at Sunnen Products in St. Louis County.
The government says sustainable manufacturing seeks to produce goods while reducing the process' effect on the environment.
Sunnen has managed to cut lighting and other energy costs and recycles paper and metal chips. Commerce says the efforts are good both for the environment and company profits.
