Kathy Swan, Bill Logan and Charlie Friend of Cape Girardeau recently attended the American Heart Association, Missouri Affiliate, Delegate Assembly-Strategic Planning Conference in Jefferson City.
Some 150 delegates attended the assembly, an annual meeting of volunteers and leadership from across the state. The delegates approved three-year goals to guide the AHA's research, education and community service programs through the years of 1996-99. These goals and strategies and objectives for reaching them will determine how the AHA delivers its services to the public. Strategic planning sessions covered programs in research support, fund-raising, educational programs for schools, the work place, and health care sites, communications and organizations of local divisions.
Swan served as facilitator for one of the workshops "Increasing Effectiveness of Local Divisions."
