Jackson police are investigating a string of burglaries that targeted restaurants along East Jackson Boulevard, said Lt. Rodney Barnes.

Between late Sunday night and early Monday morning, someone broke into Kentucky Fried Chicken, McDonald's and Mazzio's Pizza, Barnes said. The burglars gained entry by breaking the glass in the doors.

Police are looking for at least two male suspects, but no further description was available. The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the McDonald's and Mazzio's, but not from KFC, Barnes said.

A delivery driver spotted the broken glass at KFC and alerted police, who then made a check of other businesses along the street.

The incidents may be connected to the burglary of a Burger King in Farmington, Mo., that took place the evening of Oct. 4, Barnes said. Jackson and Farmington police are working jointly to locate the suspects.

However, Barnes said police don't believe that several other recent reports of vandalism along Jackson Boulevard have a connection to the three robberies. Several business windows and vehicle windows have been broken. Police suspect the damages may have been committed by juveniles.
